Principal Lawyer and Notary Public

Born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, Carlos has a deep connection to the region and its people. He completed his B.A. (Hons.) at the University of Waterloo, followed by an M.A. degree from Toronto Metropolitan University and a J.D. from the University of Ottawa. He is a licensed member of the Law Society of Ontario and a Notary Public.

Before beginning his legal career, Carlos spent a decade working across all levels of the Canadian government as well as with the U.S. federal government. Carlos brings a wide-ranging legal background, having worked at a mid-sized Toronto firm representing several of Canada’s major banks and at a boutique personal injury practice. He has also practiced civil litigation at full-service firms in Kitchener and Cambridge, where he represented individuals, families, corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and municipalities.

Carlos has lived and worked across North America, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East, giving him a global outlook that enhances his legal practice and cultural awareness in client service. He treats each client as an individual, not just a number. An engaged member of the local community, he currently serves on COMPASS Kitchener, an advisory committee to city council. He is a member of the Waterloo Region Law Association and the Ontario Bar Association. Carlos has volunteered with local programs such as the Food Bank and Out of the Cold and has taught classes at the University of Waterloo and with the City of Kitchener. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, watching movies, exploring new restaurants, and writing. You can often run into him at Starbucks!
